On March 7, 2026, in Rome, the inaugural event of the Center for the Study of Luigi Giussani was held.

The event began with opening remarks by the President of the Fraternity of Communion and Liberation, Prof. Davide Prosperi, and continued with presentations by Prof. Giovanni Maddalena (Project Coordinator) and Prof. Martino Feyles (Director of the Center).

Following the introductory remarks by Profs. Prosperi, Maddalena, and Feyles, the two keynote speakers took the floor: Prof. Tracey Rowland, with a talk titled The Temptation of 1968 and Beyond, and Prof. Michael Waldstein, with a talk titled Encountering Jesus and Staying with Him.

In the afternoon, following a discussion with contributions from the audience, the Center’s Library was officially opened to the public.

The day concluded with a Holy Mass in memory of Fr. Luigi Giussani, celebrated by S. Em. Card. James Michael Harvey at the Papal Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls.
